2020 GRANT AWARDS
FAIRVIEW PARK EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES THE 2020 FALL GRANTS
Fairview Park, Ohio – On November 19, 2020, the Fairview Park Education Foundation Board of Trustees approved $3,525.00 in grant awards for teachers of the Fairview Park City Schools. The awarded grants:
- $549.00 has been awarded to Marching Band Director Pete Cibulskas for the purchase of “Pyware #D Professional Drill Design Program”. This computer program will enable Mr. Cibulskas and section leaders to help students learn drills quickly and create their own shows. This is a new version of a program that has been used very successfully in the past few years, but is no longer supported by the Pyware company. Pirates of the Caribbean Drill
- $1,830.00 has been awarded to Janice Frygier and Gayle Dill to launch a new 8th grade unit called “Social Justice”. This new unit “will allow students to broaden their perspective on events both current and past.” The grant will allow for the purchase of books and supplies for the unit that aligns with the district’s promotion of diversity and inclusion. - $1,146.00 has been awarded to Clair Mayfield for a grant called “Music with Miss Clair”. This will allow for the purchase of musical instruments, supplies, and a cart to be used with several classes of pre-school and daycare students. “The Music with Miss Clair Cart” was designed to promote and explore music education to enrich regular classroom activity/learning.”
The Fairview Park Education Foundation provides grants for the enrichment of the Fairview Park City public schools for the enrichment of school curriculum, the enhancement of instruction, and the implementation of other appropriate activities to achieve specific education goals. The grants are funded through individual donations and through proceeds from various fundraisers.
FAIRVIEW PARK EDUCATION FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES THE 2020 SPRING GRANTS
Fairview Park, Ohio – On May 11, 2020, the Fairview Park Education Foundation Board of Trustees approved $300.00 in a grant award for a teacher of the Fairview Park City Schools. The awarded grant:
- $300 awarded to Matthew Ziemnik for “Escape Rooms: There’s No Escaping the Math”. This grant will be used for equipment to supplement already purchased kits and games for an escape room. An escape room is defined as a “physical adventure game in which players solve a series of puzzles and riddles using clues, hints, and strategies to complete the objectives at hand”. This will be used to enhance learning in the math classroom while enabling more students to be engaged with the addition of a second set of equipment.
